The Master Technician, Drafting/Product Definition (Design Technician) role at Pratt & Whitney involves collaborating with Mechanical Design Engineers to develop components for Hot Section Jet Engines. The position requires ensuring the accuracy of 3D models and drawings, participating in product definition teams, and mentoring junior staff. This role is essential for the design and production of advanced aerospace components, contributing to the company's mission of transforming the future of flight.

  • Collaborate with Mechanical Design Engineer(s) to develop Hot Section Jet Engine parts.
  • Verify complete accuracy of parametric 3D Siemens NX models and definition.
  • Ensure accurate part interrelationships through tolerance and geometric studies.
  • Participate on IPT's as Product Definition delegate.
  • Prepare/Maintain various product related Teamcenter/NX Manager data in support of PW Class I and II Engineering activities.
  • Act as mentor/coach and provide training to lower-level Product Definition practitioners.
  • AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant Product Definition experience.
  • 5+ years' prior relevant Product Definition experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Strong skills in NX and Team Center tools and processes.
  • Strong communication and teaming skills.
  • Experience in Turbine Airfoils is a plus.
  • An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Proficient with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
