Utah Community Action: Our Mission Utah Community Action was founded in 1965 to meet community needs, especially those of individuals experiencing poverty. The mission of Utah Community Action is to empower individuals, strengthen families, and build communities through education and self-reliance programs. We do this through six core programs: Workforce Development, Head Start preschool, HEAT Utility Assistance, Housing & Case Management, Home Weatherization, and Nutrition. Each year, Utah Community Action provides these services to approximately 50,000 children and families in our community, giving them the tools needed to attain and sustain self-reliance. What would you do as a Master Teacher As a Master Teacher at Utah Community Action, you will play a pivotal role in supervising assigned staff and collaborating with a dedicated classroom team to provide high-quality educational services to children and families. Your responsibilities will encompass the care and education of a designated group of children, ensuring that each child's unique needs are met in a nurturing and engaging environment. Your expertise will guide the team in implementing effective teaching strategies and fostering a positive atmosphere that promotes growth and learning. Knowledge and skills required for the position are: A bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development or a related field with an emphasis on Early Childhood essential topics Experience teaching preschool-aged children. Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills Must complete and maintain a CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of hire Must complete and maintain a Food Handler Permit within 60 days of hire Verification of degree/transcripts required The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:45 am to 4:15 pm. Requirements
