Assumes responsibility for the development and education of children, mentoring of staff, modeling of developmentally appropriate curriculum and agency policies and procedures within their assigned classroom. This role involves direct services such as planning and implementing curriculum, establishing a respectful climate for children, interacting daily with children to support their learning and social-emotional development, guiding behaviors positively, and providing direct support and engagement in play. The Master Teacher also establishes and maintains positive relationships with parents/caregivers, converses regularly about child development, maintains DRDP and Portfolios, prepares snacks, implements the Creative Curriculum model, and conducts parent-teacher conferences, ensuring quality services in accordance with NAEYC standards. Administratively, the position plans, supervises, and implements programs according to Go Kids, Inc. policies, ensures completion of various reports and documents, coordinates staff schedules, supervises Teachers and Teacher Assistants, conducts staff meetings, models parent conference skills, trains new staff on DRDP-r and Creative Curriculum, conducts annual ECERS, ITERS, SACERS, and completes performance appraisals. The role also involves ensuring compliance with Title 5 and Title 22 regulations, maintaining confidentiality, conducting tours, and assuming responsibility for the Site Supervisor/Regional Director in their absence. Health and Safety duties include providing a pleasant, safe, and clean learning environment, reporting hazards, observing safety rules, keeping spaces clean, following food handling and hygiene standards, and watching for signs of illness in children.
