About The Position

The Child Center of NY strengthens children and families with skills, opportunities, and emotional support to build healthy, successful lives. With 50 locations and 100 programs in NYC’s most under-served communities, our 1,000+ results-oriented professionals make a difference for more than 40,000 children and their families each year. Provide direct patient care to clients in our MHOTRS and CCBHC clinics aged birth through five using evidenced based modalities in order to help them maximize their level of functioning. Training in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and other EB Modalities will be provided. Conduct in depth assessments of family functioning, family history, and presenting problems of all members of the family; provide concrete assistance to address the needs families face, including homelessness, illness, lack of education, etc. Strengthen the dyadic relationship between parent(s) and child through weekly Child-Parent Psychotherapy sessions or other EB modality when appropriate Maintain appropriate professional patient care documentation in the agency selected Electronic Health Record (EHR), including client assessment and individual notes in compliance with all city, state and federal standards of practice. Meet on a weekly basis with supervisor and ECMH team to discuss cases, achievement of program targets, client goals, quality of client care and reporting requirements. May conduct outreach and workshops to educated the community about ECMH issues and concerns. May attend case reviews and develop next steps for the families and clinicians Meets data metric requirements, quality of care expectations using traditional social work interventions, or evidence-based models. Attends all required trainings and workshops. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • MSW from an accredited school of social work is required; LMSW, LCSW, LMHC required.
  • Prior experience working with young children and families.
  • Comfortable working with physically and/or chronically disabled children, as well as strong knowledge in the area of child development.
  • Spanish/English required
