About The Position

Quanex is looking for a Master Scheduler to join our team located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Master Scheduler will create, maintain, and update master schedules. Schedules should ensure sufficient finished goods inventory is available to meet actual and forecasted customer demands while optimizing production efficiency. This position is challenged to communicate across multiple functions to ensure all the necessary product information, production capabilities and supply routes are understood when planning the master schedule. Requirements

  • A college degree is preferred with 3 to 5 years of experience any combination of scheduling, inventory control, production and manufacturing.
  • Prior experience leading and/or delegating teams effectively.
  • Must be able to perform routine math associated with creating Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to manage projects involving stakeholders across multiple functions and facilities
  • Data analysis - ability to analyze data and recommend action based on the information
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Focus on execution and delivery of results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Manages the production plans for one site.
  • Updates the master schedule to ensure the appropriate mix of products is being manufactured in the appropriate facility.
  • Communicates demand information across plants for complete visibility of volume and metrics.
  • Coordinates requests for rush orders and expected delays in materials and purchased parts reduce delays.
  • Monitors finished goods inventory by product line to assure adequate availability of parts.
  • Manage customer planning programs with Sales and Customer Service inputs.
