About The Position

General Description: The Master Scheduler position schedules, coordinates, and monitors the flow of products and inventory levels through the complete production cycle. This position provides timely scheduling of Work Orders to the production floor to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates. The Master Scheduler will drive improvement initiatives and best practices in the areas of materials management, production control, and master scheduling. This is accomplished through the following essential functions: • Evaluates Sales Orders to create suitable production schedules. • Estimates the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for production. • Initiates Work Order documentation for production and shipping. • Commits Sales Order ship dates based on shop capacity and scheduled delivery of materials. • Develops production schedules to drive demand, so sufficient material is available for customer orders and, at the same time, not have excess material at the end of the quarter. • Promptly addresses and resolves issues to minimize delays in production. • Coordinates production operations in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability. • Monitors material availability, tracks progress of production, and reviews factors that may affect schedules and ship dates. • Analyzes, negotiates, recommends, and revises finished goods levels, as appropriate, to control inventory. • Recommends viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality. • Effects changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met. • Works with Supply Chain regarding current and future part shortages. • Compiles status and performance reports and submits them to management in a timely manner. • Actively informs the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules. • Communicates through verbal and written means with Sales representatives to understand customer requirements and potential requirements. • Works with the order management on expedited and hotline type orders to assure customer satisfaction. • Maintains open communication with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Shipping regarding schedule changes, so that proper inventory requirements can be achieved. • Loads, monitors, and maintains Material Resource Planning product load for proper system planning, minimizing inventory, and maintaining high customer satisfaction on delivery. • Reviews inventory with Supply Chain to ensure correct action is taken to create a plan to use up, rework, or scrap the material if necessary. • Reports on key metrics as defined by departmental targets and goals. • Monitors and resolves Engineering Change Order issues with internal departments. • Supports ISO documentation and implementation. • Monitors email throughout the day and communicates back with the information needed. • Cleans and maintains cleanliness of work area. • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or members of Executive Management.

Requirements

  • 2 years’ Master Scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in inventory control and production scheduling in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP or other industry standard Enterprise Resource Planning system.
  • Proficient with MS Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field, preferred.
