About The Position

The Master Scheduler will schedule all production for assigned plants. The Scheduler will maintain all inputs that drive the scheduling system (Oracle). The Scheduler’s ultimate responsibility is to maintain the scheduling system to ensure we maximize production output and limit downtime due to parts availability and other similar issues. Learn the basics of Viking manufacturing at the assigned plants – Kanban, how parts flow to the line, purchase parts, how manifests drive production etc. Learn the models produced at each facility. Learn about model mix and other variables that impact production efficiency. Learn about the scheduling tools in Oracle & Excel. Work with Purchasing, Plant Managers, Directors, Sales, and others to ensure the quality of weekly schedules in light of supply chain and other challenges. Work with the operations improvement team on an ongoing Oracle-scheduling improvement project – which will greatly improve how we create schedules in the future. Take on other production support tasks as deemed appropriate by Operations Mgt Manage prototypes and upkeep kanban system.

Requirements

  • College degree with focus on operations or business preferred – or comparable experience
  • A desire to learn and grow in a manufacturing operations career
  • Self-motivated, detailed-oriented and organized
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well with others – team-oriented
  • Very familiar with MS Office (including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong computer skills a plus, especially Excel and/or Access
  • Experience with production scheduling a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles a plus, but not required
