About The Position

The Master Scheduler is responsible for the location planning and scheduling of plant resources to ensure production goals are met. Evaluate data that will determine short- and long-term stock levels in conjunction with maximizing the throughput for manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in business or related field preferred and 3+ years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, or equivalent work experience in related position.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) which includes phone etiquette and active listening skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and managing a high volume of SKU's in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining efficient and effective supplier relationships
  • Analytical skills and decision making critical
  • Good organizational skills including ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well, as with teams
  • Effective interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Utilize integrated Manufacturing Execution Systems and Warehouse Management Systems to manage and determine incoming raw material supplies & prioritize and schedule production based on customer order requirements.
  • Management of inventory and receiving warehouse employees
  • Manage and develop supply base to support organization objectives.
  • Evaluate requisition requirements by analyzing required quantities, specifications, and delivery needs.
  • Recommend cost saving measures for areas of responsibility. Identify opportunities, create project plan, and implement approved measures.
  • Direct responsibility to order cores and cartons and manufacturing supplies.
  • Work with sales and product management as customer needs arise.
  • Knowledge of production areas and product flow to ensure proper scheduling. Create production plans staying informed of planned downtime and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Interpret production schedule to provide finished goods availability information to Sales, Customer Service or others.
  • Daily monitor the finished goods stock levels, order amounts and production status. Identify slow moving and obsolete inventories and make recommendations regarding disposition of items. Communicate with Operations Management to make changes as necessary.
  • Evaluate stock level requirements on a regular basis and adjust the stock levels to reflect changes in demand.
  • Work with Operations Management and Corporate Scheduling to assess capacity constraints and opportunities for improving customer service.
  • Periodically review the stock levels, lead-times and capacity models to ensure accuracy. Evaluate production models against results.
  • Execute artwork approvals for private label order.
  • Product complexity management utilizing continuous improvement methods and tools.
  • Must be willing to engage production personnel and provide communication for production requirements, especially advanced planning of change-over and set-up requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
