Requirements

  • Proven change agent – skill with enabling change, strong influencing abilities particularly with frontline teams
  • Exceptional interpersonal/written communication skills; can effectively interact with all levels of management
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with limited direction. Clearly has growth potential beyond the role
  • Demonstrated ability to influence teams and programs regarding quality productivity and/or customer service

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
  • 3 – 7 years' experience in scheduling position with extensive demonstrated success implementing and operationalizing master schedules

  • APICS certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Translate projected forecasts, incoming volume, and work scopes into a production plan with a time -phased build schedule
  • Establish key performance indicators of forecast accuracy.
  • Ensure the interaction of the Company’s functional managers, and track and maintain the forecast through timely and accurate feedback
  • Identify current planned level of demand and create tactical production plan to meet the identified customer demand.
  • Calculate production lead times
  • Coordinate information with other functional staff, including customer service, engineering, accounting, and human resources
  • Determine available capacity before planned orders are released
  • Participates in periodic forecasting meetings with sales, marketing and other related departments; leads planning meetings with sales, production, shipping, purchasing and customer service staff
  • Act as point of contact with sales and marketing on demand
  • Integrates sales orders with master schedule; coordinates availability of raw materials, supplies, equipment and staff of schedule changes or delays
  • Reviews firm and forecasted demand against demonstrated /planned labor capacity
  • Works with Operations and planning to level load production schedules, reducing inventory and increasing efficiencies
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18001 Safety certification requirements
  • Work with customer base to determine weekly inbound forecast and develop consumption models to improve accuracy
  • Assemble master schedule reporting regarding performance to the business plan, the shipment plan, the inventory plan and the production plan
  • Oversee and manage purchasing materials, production planning and shipping team members
  • Manage load leveling and bottleneck scheduling and utilize theory of constraints (TOC) for more accurate scheduling
  • Understand capacity management relationship to MRP and work with work center input and output loading
  • Engage in capacity management during sales and operations planning, master scheduling, materials requirements planning, and production activity control
  • Builds inventory and reserves capacity based on firm and planned requirements
  • Liaison between Sales & Marketing, Logistics and Operations. Collaborates with these departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve customer needs
  • Establish, monitor and adjust work cell/center capacity levels: Using theory of constraint and demonstrated labor data
  • KPI's include schedule accuracy, operational efficiency and performance to schedule, Inventory levels, On Time Delivery, (OTD) and customer satisfaction
  • Review Master Schedule performance periodically to determine performance effectiveness, accuracy and opportunities for improvement

  • Active participant in the safety program, evaluating processes and equipment for proper employee safety
  • Identify and drive "best practices" in MRP planning management
