About The Position
The University of Michigan (UM) University Health and Counseling (UHC) is a large ambulatory, multispecialty health clinic that serves a diverse student body of over 45,000 students, as well as UM faculty and staff. UHC provides clinical services throughout its primary care and specialty clinics, along with health and wellness education and promotion. The clinic is dedicated to promoting and protecting the health of students and other members of the University community, enabling them to achieve their educational and personal goals. Through various programs, services, and partnerships, UHC fosters lifelong learning to support individuals in becoming active participants in their health and wellness. UHC is currently seeking a social worker to assist patients seeking services at UHC. This role serves as a clinical liaison between UHC Primary Care, UHC Psychiatry, and outside mental health providers, bridging gaps in the mental health system of care through ongoing assessment, short-term bridge counseling, proactive outreach, consultations with other providers, connection to resources, and follow-up. The social worker will also support patients with the management of their medical needs, complementing the current cohort of three additional master's level mental health clinicians.
