The Master Production Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining an integrated production schedule across multiple manufacturing plants to ensure optimal resource utilization, on-time delivery, and alignment with customer demand. This role serves as a key link between Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Logistics to balance capacity, inventory, and service levels.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years in production planning or scheduling, preferably in a multi-plant environment.
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and SIOP processes.
  • Skills: Advanced proficiency in scheduling tools and SAP (ERP System).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Manage Master Schedule:
  • Create and maintain a consolidated production schedule for multiple plants based on demand forecasts, inventory targets, and capacity constraints.
  • Ensure alignment with Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) processes.
  • Capacity Planning & Resource Optimization:
  • Analyze plant capacities and identify bottlenecks; propose solutions to optimize throughput.
  • Coordinate production loads across facilities to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Plant Managers, Materials Management, Procurement, and Logistics teams to ensure schedule feasibility and material availability.
  • Communicate schedule changes and priorities to stakeholders.
  • Inventory & Demand Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels and adjust schedules to maintain optimal stock while avoiding shortages or excess.
  • Incorporate customer orders, forecasts, and safety stock requirements into planning.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in scheduling, planning, and capacity utilization.
  • Support implementation of advanced planning systems and tools.
