About The Position

The Master Plumber is the highest certification level in the plumbing trade, signifying expert technical skill, comprehensive knowledge of codes, and advanced leadership capability, typically achieved after extensive experience and passing a rigorous licensing exam. This role is essential for ensuring the integrity and compliance of all plumbing systems, especially within complex, large-scale facilities like those in the Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation industry.

Requirements

  • Experience Level: 7–9 years of professional experience, ideally within the Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation industry or similar environments (e.g., large commercial campuses, hospitality, or public venues) where systems integration and high-volume usage are critical.
  • Licensure: Must possess a valid, current state-administered Master Plumber license .
  • Technical Knowledge: Advanced technical knowledge of plumbing principles, hydraulics, blueprints, schematics, and all relevant materials and equipment.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams, mentor staff, and make independent, high-level technical decisions.
  • Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
  • Work in extreme environments outdoors throughout the year.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud during events.

Responsibilities

  • Complex Installation & Design: Perform and oversee the most complex plumbing installations, diagnostics, and repairs. Design and implement entire plumbing systems for large capital projects, new construction, and major facility upgrades.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure all plumbing work, installations, and repairs comply strictly with local, state, and national building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Supervision & Training: Act as a leader and mentor by supervising and formally training Journeyman and Apprentice Plumbers, providing technical guidance, and signing off on apprentice work hours.
  • Project Management: May manage complex plumbing projects from initial design and budgeting through final inspection, ensuring timely completion and cost control.
  • Business Operations: May involve managing an independent plumbing operation or overseeing the plumbing division within a large organization, including procurement and resource management.
