About The Position

Beantown Home Services is seeking an experienced Master Plumber to serve as the sole Master of Record and lead our plumbing division. This is a senior-level leadership role with full authority over plumbing operations, permitting, and code compliance, reporting directly to the owner. The position is primarily administrative and oversight-focused, with selective field visits for quality control and team support — ideal for a seasoned Master ready to step out of full-time field work and into a long-term leadership role. Position Overview This role is ideal for a seasoned Master Plumber who wants to lead, manage, and oversee rather than spend every day turning wrenches. The Master Plumber / Master of Record will have full authority over plumbing operations, code compliance, permitting, and technical standards. This is a primarily administrative and leadership position, with selective field oversight and site visits to support quality control, inspections, and team development. The position reports directly to the owner and effectively runs the plumbing division.

Requirements

  • Active Massachusetts Master Plumber License (required)
  • Experience serving as Master of Record for a plumbing operation preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of MA plumbing codes and best practices
  • Proven leadership and team-management ability
  • Comfortable in an administrative, oversight-focused role
  • Ability to communicate professionally with homeowners, staff, and inspectors
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Experience working with service or field-management software is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Master of Record for all plumbing operations
  • Oversee day-to-day plumbing operations for residential service and installation
  • Establish and enforce company plumbing standards and best practices
  • Coordinate with ownership, office staff, sales, and field teams
  • Support scheduling, materials planning, and job execution
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training of plumbing staff
  • Ensure all plumbing work complies with Massachusetts plumbing code and local regulations
  • Pull plumbing permits and coordinate inspections
  • Review complex scopes of work and ensure inspection readiness
  • Conduct quality control reviews and compliance inspections
  • Perform selective site visits to monitor workmanship and support plumbers
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide expert guidance
  • Reduce callbacks through proper planning and execution
  • Work with the sales team and plumbers to properly scope and sell plumbing work
  • Provide technical input on estimates, pricing, and job feasibility
  • Support the long-term growth and scalability of the plumbing division
