About The Position

The Master Plumber / Construction Team Lead is a hands-on working leader responsible for executing and leading interior and exterior capital improvement projects across a multifamily portfolio. This role is not a desk position. The ideal candidate is a licensed or master plumber who works in the field daily, leads from the front, and manages a small construction crew while actively performing skilled trade work. Projects range from targeted repairs to full unit rehabs. The role blends technical execution, crew leadership, and on-site decision-making.

Requirements

  • Licensed plumber or master plumber required.
  • 5+ years of hands-on construction or renovation experience.
  • Proven experience leading small crews in the field.
  • Strong working knowledge of interior and exterior building systems.
  • Comfortable performing physical labor daily.
  • Ability to identify issues, make decisions, and execute without heavy oversight.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled trade work daily, with plumbing as a primary discipline.
  • Execute interior and exterior CapEx projects including: Siding repairs and replacement Concrete repair and replacement Deck repairs and full rebuilds Identification and repair of damaged or unsafe air ducts Exterior safety hazard identification and remediation Common area improvements Interior unit repairs and renovations Full unit rehabs including cabinets, drywall, paint, and fixture installation
  • Diagnose issues in the field and implement durable, code-compliant solutions.
  • Step into active production during high-priority or time-sensitive projects.
  • Lead and manage a crew of 2–5 construction team members.
  • Work alongside the team while setting pace, standards, and expectations.
  • Assign daily tasks, sequence work, and ensure quality execution.
  • Train, coach, and develop crew members across skill sets.
  • Hold the team accountable to safety, workmanship, and timelines.
  • Lead on-site execution for assigned CapEx projects.
  • Identify scope, materials, labor needs, and sequencing.
  • Coordinate with vendors or subcontractors when specialty work is required.
  • Identify safety risks and enforce job-site safety standards.
  • Communicate progress, issues, and needs to leadership.
