About The Position

The Master Planning Analyst provides administrative support for materials planning and logistics. It is the responsibility of the Master Planning Analyst to coordinate important planning activities within the department and the Production facilities. This position has inter-company contacts requiring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels.

Requirements

  • Excellent working knowledge in Microsoft Office Products: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and large-scale ERP applications a must.
  • The ability to organize one’s thoughts, plans and communications in both written and oral communications is a must.
  • Must be detailed oriented, use deductive reasoning.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing activities including production planning processes.
  • Must be able to handle various tasks simultaneously, organize, prioritize, make decisions and work efficiently and effectively under deadlines.
  • Ability to interact comfortably and professionally with all levels of the organization.
  • The ability to work successfully in a team environment is a must.
  • The ability to meet flexible and changing priorities with accuracy and the ability to work under pressure is a must.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, exploring ways to achieve better results.
  • Ability to problem solve and implement preventative measures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting.
  • Five to seven (5-7) years’ experience in Administration or Customer Service with a food or consumer products company.

  • APICS certification is very desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support Production & Capacity Planning Manager and Blending Specialist in daily logistics and raw materials planning.
  • Analyze and understand inventories to determine the critical availability of products required for new blends.
  • Generate and release production blends for bulk and packaged blends specific to customer specifications as well as floor stock for immediate shipment
  • Review current contracts and inventories, develop variance analysis and plan new production to fulfill future product demands.
  • Develop relationships with Sales & Production to work between the teams to ensure timely information & communication regarding production availability.
  • Familiarize yourself with trends in shipments and similarities/differences in batch requirements.
  • Strategically build and keep updated the company’s production planning schedules to accommodate the dynamic changes within product availability and demand.
  • Manage ancillary ingredient inventories to ensure ability to execute customer blends on a prompt needed basis.
  • Track batch progress & status within the production process to ensure timely completion of packaged goods.
  • Retrieve production information from the plant supervisory staff and group leaders as necessary.
  • Generate transfer orders between facilities to ensure inventories are available as needed.
  • Assist management & team in continuous improvement initiatives to better the process in both efficiency & effectiveness.
  • Assist in processing documentation within department.
  • Analyze production, sales, & inventory data and report trends to management as needed.
  • Assist in entering essential data into the ERP & Production Management system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and required.
