About The Position

The Master Planner & Inventory Control Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the master production schedule-derived from both the sales forecast and backlog-to ensure efficient operations within the manufacturing and supply chain processes. This role involves coordinating with Sales regarding demand forecasts to be entered into the backlog and with Operations for scheduling demand in accordance with both material lead times and the manufacturing capacity plan. The role requires a balance of strategic planning, hands-on coordination, and data-driven decision-making to optimize capacity utilization, minimize shortages, and improve overall supply chain performance by reducing inventory efforts.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems. Ie. Sightline, Sage.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications: Word, excel, power point, share point.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in production planning, supply chain, or a related area.
  • Experience with demand forecasting methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS or similar certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate the production planning to align customer demand, production capacity, and material availability.
  • Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Sales to ensure schedule feasibility and responsiveness to changes in demand.
  • Monitor work-in-progress and adjust plans to accommodate capacity constraints, delays, or unplanned changes.
  • Analyze production lead times to recommend process or scheduling improvements.
  • Lead weekly or daily planning meetings with production managers to review upcoming builds, priorities, and material readiness.
  • Oversee all inventory functions, including receiving, cycle counting, transfers, and stock accuracy across all facilities.
  • Establish and enforce inventory control procedures to maintain data accuracy and prevent material shortages or overstock conditions.
  • Work closely with procurement to manage shortages and supplier delivery dates.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for inventory accuracy and material availability; drive continuous improvement against those metrics.
  • Supervise stockroom personnel and ensure compliance with FIFO, lot control, and traceability requirements.
