About The Position

The Master Operation Technician at Dairy Farmers of America Inc. is responsible for operating and monitoring production equipment in a manufacturing environment, particularly within the dairy or consumer goods industry. This role requires a high level of skill in various operator roles and involves troubleshooting, minor maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 to 4 years of manufacturing/production experience, preferably in the dairy or consumer goods industry.
  • Certification and/or License may be required during the course of employment.
  • Able to operate production equipment, components, and peripheral accessories.
  • Able to take initiative in performing job and seek increased responsibilities.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to follow directions and meet deadlines.

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficiency in a range of processes, procedures, and equipment to perform various operator roles in the plant production environment.
  • Clean, set-up, operate, and monitor equipment on the production line.
  • Ensure that the proper materials are used for each product being produced.
  • Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks.
  • Review charts, screens, quality check sheets, and specifications in both hard copy and electronic format.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks to maintain plant equipment; complete cleaning checklist after each run.
  • Prepare equipment for the next run, including size changes as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve moderate to complicated operating difficulties.
  • Maintain communication with other departments, supervisors, and employees regarding production efficiency.
  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out clearly and accurately, documenting required information in accordance with SOPs.
  • Review process data and equipment performance data to improve quality and troubleshoot issues.
  • Assist with training efforts in the functional area as needed.
  • Follow all good manufacturing practices (GMP) and comply with corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and compliance with state and federal health and safety regulations.
