About The Position

The Master Mechanic is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance and repair activities of the AIS Infrastructure fleet of vehicles and equipment. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of the company's construction and industrial services projects. The Mechanic Foreman must possess a strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment mechanics and adhere to AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and protocols.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment mechanics, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Ability to lead and supervise a team of mechanics and technicians effectively.
Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the heavy equipment maintenance industry.
In-depth knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance best practices and industry standards.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools, equipment, and software used in vehicle and equipment maintenance.
Proficiency in using computer software and diagnostic tools relevant to vehicle and equipment maintenance.
Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and supervisors.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
Attention to detail to ensure accurate diagnosis and effective repairs.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Strong customer service skills to interact with internal stakeholders and external clients.
Physical requirements may include lifting heavy parts (up to 50 pounds), bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
The job may involve mental demands such as working under pressure, managing multiple priorities, and making quick decisions.

Nice To Haves

Technical certification or degree in automotive or especially heavy equipment mechanics is preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the work of mechanics and technicians in the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.
Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in vehicles and equipment.
Perform complex repairs and maintenance tasks on a variety of vehicles and equipment, including heavy machinery, trucks, and specialized construction equipment.
Review preventive maintenance inspections to identify and address potential issues before they cause equipment failure .
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts usage, work performed, and equipment status.
Schedule maintenance with other AIS Infrastructure M echanics/Technicians or appropriate equipment dealers.
Adhere to and enforce safety AIS Infrastructure safety protocol.
