About The Position

The Master Mechanic is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance and repair activities of the AIS Infrastructure fleet of vehicles and equipment. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of the company's construction and industrial services projects. The Mechanic Foreman must possess a strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment mechanics and adhere to AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and protocols.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment mechanics, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to lead and supervise a team of mechanics and technicians effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the heavy equipment maintenance industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance best practices and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools, equipment, and software used in vehicle and equipment maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using computer software and diagnostic tools relevant to vehicle and equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and supervisors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate diagnosis and effective repairs.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong customer service skills to interact with internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Physical requirements may include lifting heavy parts (up to 50 pounds), bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • The job may involve mental demands such as working under pressure, managing multiple priorities, and making quick decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification or degree in automotive or especially heavy equipment mechanics is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of mechanics and technicians in the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.
  • Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform complex repairs and maintenance tasks on a variety of vehicles and equipment, including heavy machinery, trucks, and specialized construction equipment.
  • Review preventive maintenance inspections to identify and address potential issues before they cause equipment failure .
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts usage, work performed, and equipment status.
  • Schedule maintenance with other AIS Infrastructure M echanics/Technicians or appropriate equipment dealers.
  • Adhere to and enforce safety AIS Infrastructure safety protocol.
