About The Position

Have you mastered advanced automotive and truck repair and take pride in diagnosing and fixing complex issues the right way the first time? If you enjoy working on newer cargo vans and box trucks across multiple brands and want your expertise to directly support customer uptime and reliability, join the Avis Budget Group team supporting Budget Truck operations. In this role, your technical leadership helps ensure our trucks are safe, dependable, and ready when customers need them to keep their businesses moving. What You’ll Do: You will perform standard and complex mechanical repairs, including warranty work, on a fleet of newer cargo vans and box trucks with minimal technical supervision. This includes diagnosing and repairing engines, transmissions, exhaust systems, brakes, electrical systems, air conditioning, and onboard computer systems. You may act as a technical expert and mentor to other technicians, supporting diagnostics, repair strategies, and best practices. You may also be required to drive Budget Trucks on public roads for testing, repair verification, or transport needs. By keeping vehicles operating safely and efficiently, your work directly reduces downtime, supports fleet availability, and ensures a reliable customer experience.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License (Class A, B, or C)
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional automotive or truck repair experience
  • Current ASE certifications (minimum of 3), with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year
  • Strong knowledge across ASE areas including, but not limited to: Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and near a mechanical shop with moderate noise levels
  • Must have a complete set of tools required for automotive and truck repair and maintenance
  • Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive vehicles
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to obtain DOT medical clearance
  • This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience is preferred and considered a strong advantage
