About The Position

The Master Mechanic performs maintenance to service, repair, and overhaul (Airbus) aircraft to insure airworthiness. Utilizes technical skills and knowledge to train and develop mechanics. Assists Leads with daily operation of functional area while working under minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ recent commercial aircraft maintenance and/or heavy Airbus Structures experience preferred.
  • Applicable Repairman, Airframe, or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification (preferred)
  • Heavy Interior modifications experience – cabin reconfiguration experience
  • Ability to remove and reinstall monuments efficiently and without rework
  • Proficient with precision locating and installation of monument hard points on floor structures
  • Repair, replace, and rebuild A/C component structures
  • Possess basic computer skills
  • Repair & modify flight control surfaces and components
  • Utilize special installation tools, such as blind rivet guns, etc.
  • Utilize OEM and Engineering drawings to modify aircraft structure
  • Complete specialized tasks, such as flap peening, cold working, etc.
  • Fabricate repair parts using special shop tooling, such as brakes, stretchers, etc.

  • Airbus water/waste interface familiarity (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings, engineering orders, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repair, replacement, or modification.
  • Oversees and co-signs for uncertified mechanics in accordance with the ATS RSM procedures.
  • Repair, modify, replace or otherwise performs routine aircraft maintenance work.
  • Uses technical data to order parts and ensure material is effective for aircraft being installed on.
  • Gathers information to submit to Engineering as needed.
  • Recognizes unsafe conditions and takes immediate corrective action.
  • May assist Leads with planning, production, and quality assurance of assigned projects.
  • Communicates effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise.
  • Facilitates On-the-Job Training (OJT) to provide learning opportunities through work assignment and mentoring.
  • Recommends changes to processes to improve efficiencies and workflow.
  • Complies with and may communicate and provide guidance to team members on ATS policies, procedures and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements. Promotes "Balanced Technician" concept.
  • Mentors and develops mechanics assigned to their functional areas.
  • May assist in regular feedback and performance coaching including appropriate management of time, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring proper knowledge and training to accomplish assignments to all members of assigned crew.
  • Responsible for accurate timekeeping including clocking into jobs.
  • May be responsible for accuracy of clocking into jobs for assigned team.
  • Adheres to company training guidelines.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.
