About The Position

General Purpose: Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment within the facility. Perform required performance maintenance (PM’s) as scheduled.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or specialized trade school preferred
  • 3 years of maintenance experience, including experience with electronic controls and PLC units
  • 1 year of specialized training in PLC’s or equivalent preferred
  • Able to perform all required preventative, productive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance procedures
  • Able to use shop mathematics with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, and various types of adjustable measuring instruments
  • Strong understanding of controls used in the plant and how they affect production
  • Knowledge of machine shop equipment
  • Able to troubleshoot problems
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to follow directions and meet deadlines
  • Able to perform task and duties without constant supervision
  • Able to lead and instruct others on the proper and safe procedures
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English

Nice To Haves

  • Certification and/or License – Forklift certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Install, program, maintain, document, and troubleshoot programmable logic controls (PLC) and components
  • Plan and coordinate installation of electronic controls
  • Assist in training other maintenance staff as needed
  • Report daily to maintenance manager on the status of projects and repairs
  • Assist in regulatory tests of plant instrumentation and document results as required
  • Understand and monitor plant systems: HVAC, Compressed Air, electrical, glycol chillers, etc.
  • Provide capability in PM related activities
  • Document all work performed
  • Assist as needed on all types of maintenance calls throughout the plant
  • Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
