About The Position

MSRC is seeking a (part-time) Master Machinist to guide and support the development of a rapid prototype lab and machine shop.

Requirements

• 20 years of directly related experience
• Demonstrated skills operating CNC mills, lathes, and wire EDM machines.
• Hands on experience with 3D modeling CAD/CAM software (OneCNC experience preferred).
• Demonstrated skills operating manual mill, lathe, drill press, grinder, etc.
• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Candidate must currently possess and be able to maintain an active security clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Certification as a Tool and Die Maker preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise Corporate leadership in the development of a high precision rapid prototyping facility / machining capability.
• Identify and hire qualified associate machinists.
• Train and supervise associate machinists.
• Develop cost competitive bids for unique, high precision parts, tools, fixtures and assemblies.
• Work with engineers, designers, and technicians to refine and optimize mechanical designs for ease of fabrication and assembly.
• Develop and oversee an effective Quality Assurance program.
• Program and operate multi-axis CNC fabrication machining centers and lathes.
