Requirements

  • Expert-Level Skill - Advanced knowledge of automotive systems including electrical, drivability, transmission, and engine diagnostics.
  • Quality of Workmanship - You hold yourself to the highest standards, ensuring every repair is completed with accuracy, care, and integrity. You never "just get it done" - you get it done right.
  • Experience & Certification - Ford Certified or ASE Master Technician status preferred (but not required).
  • If you are not already Ford certified, obtaining Ford certification will be a requirement.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in automotive diagnostics and repair.
  • Problem-Solving Ability - Strong diagnostic and analytical skills to efficiently identify issues and recommend proper repairs.
  • Technical Aptitude - Proficiency with Ford factory diagnostic systems, tools, and digital service platforms.
  • Communication & Teamwork - Able to clearly explain findings and collaborate effectively with Service Advisors and other technicians.
  • Efficiency & Productivity - Proven ability to manage time, maximize flag hours, and maintain high CSI scores.
  • Continuous Learning - Commitment to staying current with evolving Ford vehicle technologies and participating in manufacturer training.
  • Professionalism & Reliability - Dependable, punctual, and committed to representing the Preston brand with excellence.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record required.

Nice To Haves

  • Ford Certification - Strong familiarity with Ford systems, platforms, and repair processes is a huge plus.
  • CDK Experience - Preferred but not required; we'll train the right candidate.
  • Automotive technical school or ASE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a full range of Ford vehicles.
  • Use state-of-the-art Ford factory tools and technology to identify and resolve complex issues with precision.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity while ensuring top-quality workmanship on every job.
  • Work closely with Service Advisors and teammates to deliver outstanding service and efficiency.
  • Stay current on Ford training, certifications, and evolving vehicle technologies.
  • Mentor junior technicians and help elevate the entire shop team.
  • Take pride in your craft and help uphold Preston's reputation for excellence and integrity.
