About The Position

As a Master Laboratory Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by conducting complex tests with minimal supervision, reporting test results in a detailed manner, and communicating these results to requestors. You will operate test equipment, including electro-mechanical test frames and analytical test equipment, and support test method development by formulating new test ideas and adapting test equipment to trial these new ideas. Additionally, you will document new test procedures, maintain equipment in the lab, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution.
  • One (1) year of combined experience in laboratory, manufacturing, or testing in a private, public, educational, government or military environment.
  • One (1) year of combined experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates/Two Year Technical degree or higher from an accredited university.
  • Experience working with testing equipment.
  • Ability to run and manipulate test software packages or Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) on Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems.
  • Experience with ISO, Automotive (IATF), or Aerospace (AS) quality compliance standards.
  • Experience working with a diverse team including external partners.
  • Ability to communicate regularly and effectively on test results and observations.
  • Familiarity with 3M testing systems & Industry standards governing materials durability and performance.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Hands on attitude.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting complex tests with minimal supervision.
  • Reporting test results in a detailed manner and communicating these results to requestors.
  • Operating test equipment, including electro-mechanical test frames and analytical test equipment.
  • Supporting test method development by formulating new test ideas and adapting test equipment to trial these new ideas.
  • Documenting new test procedures and equipment operation procedures.
  • Updating existing documentation.
  • Maintaining equipment in lab through coordination of preventative maintenance schedules and shop work orders.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
