Responsibilities

  • Act as a key support in GMP and non-GMP projects, ensuring smooth engineering operations.
  • Attend MFG customer scheduling meetings and co-lead team huddles.
  • Cross-train technicians, ensuring a versatile and knowledgeable team.
  • Perform GMP multi-site and planned event assessments.
  • Conduct TECO spot checks and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Assist with equipment regulated by cGMP/cGXP, minimizing instrumentation downtime.
  • Partner with planners to schedule work and present project and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to the Leadership Team (LT).
  • Review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), conduct knowledge assessments, and oversee On-the-Job Training (OJT).
  • Update Master Plans (MPs) and manage documentation.
  • Participate in the identification, purchase, and organization of spare parts and create Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Act as the instrumentation Subject Matter Expert (SME) on various projects and with key stakeholders.
  • Provide technical and leadership oversight during the design, installation, start-up, and commissioning of process equipment and critical utilities.
  • Mentor and train field instrument technicians to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills.
  • Write assessments from an instrumentation perspective for Planned Events.
  • Perform diagnostics, calibration, and maintenance of industrial process systems and instruments, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Support systems start-up and validation, assist in task/personnel coordination, and safely operate tools and shop equipment.
  • Ensure that all training requirements are met and that all relevant SOPs and operating parameters are adhered to.
  • Maintain equipment and systems in a constant state of inspection readiness according to Federal, State, Local, and Genentech regulations.
  • Conduct investigations, recommend Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPAs), and support internal and external regulatory inspections.
  • Facilitate and/or participate as an SME for Root Cause Analysis for instrument-related Unplanned Events.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead a center of excellence forum for instrumentation technicians across Facilities Operations and Maintenance (FOM).
  • Drive technical capabilities of cross-campus instrumentation teams and ensure training adequacy.
  • Engage in critical conversations regarding new equipment and inform capability roadmaps.
