About The Position

As a Master Industrial Technician, you will take on a leadership role, working with management to coordinate and execute daily maintenance operations for the processing facility. The ideal candidate will be able to perform the job with little or no supervision and must be knowledgeable in all areas of the processing facility and equipment. This role involves coordinating capital projects, facility maintenance, preventive maintenance programs, and new equipment installations or upgrades. You will work on-site or across multiple sites to ensure timely and efficient production. Using your expertise, you will troubleshoot and repair various mechanical, electrical, and conveying systems, as well as different types of industrial equipment. This position requires professionalism and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. As a Master Industrial Technician, you will provide leadership, technical guidance, and support to other on-site maintenance technicians, including mentoring, training, and development. All tasks must be performed safely, efficiently, and effectively to support the daily achievement of production goals by ensuring the proper functionality of machinery.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience as a lead/supervisor or manager.
  • Strong knowledge with diagnostics, advanced electronic, electrical, Ladder Logic, electrical testing devices, PLC, programing, software, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to work in various climate conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Maintenance experience in the food, poultry or agriculture industry not required but is a plus
  • Prefer an Associates or Bachelor's degree in industrial maintenance or related field or 2-year additional trade or technical school education for maintenance, mechanical, welding, HVAC, or electrical or a minimum of 5+ years of experience in similar role
  • Maintenance experience in the food, poultry or agriculture industry a plus
  • Experience with safety/equipment such as LOTO, harnesses, lanyards, hoists, and PPE a plus

Responsibilities

  • Under minimal or no supervision, repair and use expertise to perform high level maintenance on industrial machinery (i.e., automation, mechanical, electrical, conveying systems, etc.) using manufactures recommendations, blueprints schematics, and company SOPs to ensure equipment is performing safely and to required specifications
  • Identify root cause of all mechanical and electrical issues and performs repairs that may include welding, fabricating parts, plumbing, electrical, or replacing defective components. Works with appropriate personnel and management if further attention is required to resolve the issue
  • Diagnose and conduct overall conveyor maintenance on schedule as required
  • Troubleshooting and replace or repair drive chains, gears, belts, pullies, shafts, rollers, electric motors, and gear boxes
  • Coordinating, sustain, improve, and develop new Preventative Maintenance plans on all processing equipment
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, PLC, Software, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components
  • Uses test equipment to diagnose system controls, software issues, malfunctioning machine systems, apparatus, and components
  • Analyze, report, document, and communicate maintenance issues to the maintenance manager
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate tools/supplies for necessary repairs and maintenance. Initiates purchase order for parts and supplies
  • Responsible for maintaining tools, keeping them clean and in good working condition. Keep work area organized, clean and free to move in
  • Assist other technicians in the performance of maintenance activities and/or providing training/guidance
  • Participate in and promotes our safety culture by following safe work practices
  • Identify unsafe conditions and corrects. Work with management to resolve safety concerns
  • When working in processing follows all compliance, food safety, and biosecurity rules, policies, and procedures. Reports any violations to a supervisor. Be familiar with USDA regulations
