About The Position

The licensed Master Electrician is responsible for supporting commercial HVAC systems and projects. This role will serve as the electrical authority for the organization, overseeing installations, ensuring code compliance, supporting field teams, and providing technical leadership across projects. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in electrical systems, a strong understanding of HVAC applications, and the ability to lead, mentor, and ensure high-quality, compliant work across all job sites.

Requirements

  • Active Master Electrician License (required – state-specific)
  • 7–10+ years of electrical experience, with a strong focus on commercial HVAC systems
  • Deep knowledge of: National Electrical Code (NEC) Commercial electrical systems and controls HVAC-related electrical applications
  • Proven ability to lead projects and guide field teams
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, especially with control systems and complex electrical issues
  • Experience working in commercial environments (retail, office, industrial, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and controls
  • Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Experience working alongside HVAC service and install teams
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the licensed Master Electrician of record (if applicable), ensuring all work meets NEC and local code requirements
  • Oversee and support electrical installations for commercial HVAC systems, including: Rooftop units (RTUs) Air handlers and split systems Condensing units Control systems and building automation interfaces
  • Review and approve: Electrical plans Wiring diagrams Load calculations Permits and inspections
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts on complex electrical and control issues within HVAC systems
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to electricians, HVAC technicians, and installers
  • Coordinate with project managers and operations teams to ensure: Proper job scoping Material planning Efficient project execution
  • Interface with inspectors, engineers, and local authorities as needed
  • Ensure all electrical work is performed safely and in compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • Assist with system startups, commissioning, and final quality checks
  • Maintain accurate documentation for compliance, inspections, and project records
