The Master Electrician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of electrical systems on production equipment and facilities. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards while supporting quality assurance programs in food production. The Master Electrician leads safety initiatives, oversees maintenance technicians, and serves as a subject matter expert in electrical projects and training.

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical systems on production equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical work regulations and safety standards, including MN Department of Labor regulations and National Electric Code.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to support quality programs for safe food production.
  • Lead safety initiatives related to human and food safety.
  • Troubleshoot and correct electrical and process problems associated with equipment and facilities.
  • Test electrical equipment, including AC/DC drives, motors, and controls.
  • Design and layout circuits, install fixtures, wiring conduits, and other electrical components.
  • Work with contractors for equipment repair, installation, and upgrades.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities generated from CMMS.
  • Assist Maintenance Planners with job plan creation and work order planning.
  • Serve as an electrical project resource and subject matter expert.
  • Support electrical training programs for maintenance employees.
  • Oversee compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Minnesota Master Electrician license required.
  • 1 - 5 years of experience as a Master Electrician.
  • Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food production.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and DOL regulations.
  • Experience in food production environments.
  • Additional certifications related to electrical safety or maintenance.
