About The Position

We are currently looking for a Master Electrician to join our team in Conover, NC. This opportunity offers a $5K SIGN ON BONUS!!! Regular Hours: 6am - 2:30pm. Overtime: 5:00am - 6:00am, 2:30pm - 4:30pm. Performs routine maintenance and provides emergency response for all machines and equipment, diagnoses source of problems/ potential problems, and maintains or repairs as needed. Designs, builds, installs, and maintains high and low voltage electrical services and equipment for all Haworth facilities. Provides power and energy management in all (routine/emergency) situations. Assists other maintenance members; serves as resource to engineering and management.

Requirements

  • Certificate of completion of four-year apprentice program or equivalent (equivalent is six years electrician experience).
  • Journeyman Electrician, Department of Labor card required.
  • "Unlimited Classification Master Electrician" License required.
  • Eight years on-site experience or equivalent schooling, including experience as construction electrician.
  • Requires knowledge of maintenance equipment and test instruments, including operating power hand tools, non-power hand tools, precision measuring tools, and various pieces of electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to use state-of-the-art equipment, i.e., line analyzers, watt and Drantz Meters.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial truck certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain North Carolina driver license.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints, schematics, and machine manuals in order to perform repairs.
  • Color acuity required to differentiate electrical wiring.
  • Proficient understanding of electrical including Programmable Language Control (PLC) Programs.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, powered transmissions.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses each situation, determines course of action and repairs or updates machines/equipment.
  • Disassembles, adjusts, reworks, rebuilds, or replaces electrical components of machinery and equipment to achieve desired results.
  • Operates and tests production equipment to ensure effectiveness and safety of repairs.
  • Ensures timely installation of all facility electrical distribution services, i.e., transformers, busduct, breaker panels, switch gear, load centers, direct burial lines, and overhead wiring.
  • Plans, lays out, and performs all bench and machine operations to construct, alter, repair, and retrofit intricately designed programs.
  • Test runs machine/equipment to determine effectiveness and completeness of electrical service or repairs.
  • Provides project leadership on major machine and equipment installations/revisions at various Haworth facilities.
  • Reviews materials lists, purchases, vendor proposals for new and/or reconstruction projects.
  • Completes paperwork to obtain construction permits in accordance with state and local electrical codes.
  • Oversees general electrical construction, from supplying temporary electrical services to installing electrical services specified in mechanical prints.
  • Consults with electrical contractors and engineers or direct contract electrical labor for day-to-day operations.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on machines and electrical equipment to keep machines and equipment in good working order.
  • Using technology systems, creates work requests and work orders, obtains needed parts in-house or orders through tool crib, and obtain historical work order information.
  • Bends and runs conduit throughout plant(s), both indoors and outdoors.
  • Routinely contacts suppliers or manufacturers on part information, repair issues, improvements, and shipping instructions.
  • Oversees work of other Electricians and apprentices to ensure adherence to state and local electrical codes.
  • Participates in Electrical Apprenticeship program to validate and ensure proper training is provided to members in preparation for state testing.
  • Installs internal and external lighting, including special design installations, parking lots, and special office effects.
  • Installs/maintains computer room power services and equipment hook-ups for uninterrupted power service.
  • Installs Haworth Panel Systems multi-circuit base feeds, including hard wiring service feeds.
  • Monitors all facility and production maintenance needs for electrical system problems; monitors and maintains high voltage primary service from utility companies.
  • Creates and completes work requests and work orders, sources parts from tool crib, and obtains historical work orders information.
  • Maintains documentation of equipment; completes all appropriate paperwork.
