About The Position

The Master Carpenter is responsible for the team coordination and execution of all facility related construction and renovation projects for Winona Health. This position is focused on the carpentry side of projects and works with other master tradesman through a team management approach. This position will be required to obtain a special boiler engineer license within 6 months of date of hire and a 2B boiler engineer license within 3 years of date of hire.

Requirements

  • College degree or work life experience in carpentry
  • Ability to effectively lead and organize projects
  • Special boiler engineer license within 6 months of date of hire
  • 2B boiler engineer license within 3 years of date of hire.

  • Engineering or construction management experience.
  • Previous experience with project management or carpentry within a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination and execution of facility-related carpentry and renovation projects.
  • Manages phases of carpentry, renovations, moves, and other special projects for the Facilities Department.
  • Works on pre-design meetings, design development, budgets, construction, administration, and developing timelines for project start-up and completion, focused on the carpentry side.
  • Monitoring of Interim Life Safety, and contractor training/safety practices.
  • Meeting and communicating effectively with departments on carpentry-related impact to the facility.
  • Responsible for construction compliance with building life safety codes.
  • AutoCAD manager and space accountability owner.
  • Infection Control Certification or ability to become certified. Responsible for all installation, monitoring, and record keeping on the main campus in infection control
  • Facilitate keys and locks for Winona Health
  • Install light carpentry work to include drop ceilings, doors, windows, case work, caulking, wall moves, and other light carpentry tasks.
  • Responsible for Annual Fire Door inspections and other code compliance preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Assists with general maintenance repairs, including but not limited to snow removal, as requested.
