About The Position

Utilizes Cherokee Language knowledge to assist Curriculum Specialists in the production of Cherokee curricula, assist and help Cherokee Language Master Speakers teach Cherokee Language to Cherokee Language Program participants, and help supervisors and other staff as assigned. Help collect and research existing curricula for improvement and redesign. Aids in researching and developing a new curriculum designed for specific learning needs, such as content, setting, and methodological approach. Assists in ensuring curricula quality to create maximum learning efficacy.

Requirements

  • Completion of the Cherokee Language Master Apprentice Program or be a first language Cherokee speaker.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
  • Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.
  • Knowledge of Database software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
