The Massage Therapist functions under the direction of the Massage Supervisor and is responsible for providing a professional and effective massage to Health Place members and outside clients. Also, responsible for conducting chair massages during health fairs or special events as well as providing presentations on massage and stress management as needed. Assist with developing promotional materials for massage as well as market the program.

Requirements

• High school diploma Required or GED Required and completion certified Massage Therapy course work (min. 500 hrs). Required
• Lic Massage Therapist 1.00 Required
• Basic Life Support 2.00 Required
• BLS - Instructor 2.00 Required
• BLS - Provisional 2.00 Required
• Minimum 1 year with preference for some experience in sports, pre-natal massage and clinical) but will train under supervisors’ discretion.
• Display strong motivation for community outreach and working with people.
• Displays excellent health and wellness lifestyle.
• Exercise independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative when performing roles.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, effective, and relaxing massage to each client.
• Consistently provides a friendly and professional introduction of him/herself and explains the massage process to each client.
• Inquires about clients’ needs and personal comfort.
• Consistently keeps the massage room in a neat and clean environment.
• Demonstrates willingness to perform in Health Fairs and department functions when necessary and promotes to increase appointment and revenue.
