About The Position

The Massage Therapist
position primarily works with members by delivering a variety of massage services. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Requirements

• Must hold required licensing and certifications per the state of Indiana guidelines.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Current CPR/First aid/AED certification required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
• Must be physically capable to perform manual labor, work both indoors and outdoors and have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripherals, depth perceptions and ability to adjust focus.
• Bending at the waist, kneeling, crouching, or reaching above the head to store or retrieve materials. Repetitive motion of the upper body, specifically the shoulders, arms, hands and fingers.

Responsibilities

• Provide services for members and non-members including but not limited to: Massages/therapeutic services, etc.
• Maintain and keep a clean and stocked room.
• Respond and help with all member and non-member inquiries.
• Provide a current schedule of availability to Director of Fitness and Recreation.
• Maintain hygiene standards and follow health and safety regulations.
• Communicate with and report to administration as/when needed.
• Develop a presence by offering seminars, workshops, demo days etc.
• Communicate with other therapists to share space/ rooms and time.
• Communicate and work with Fitness staff to promote services and products.
• Cross promote fitness programs the JCC has to offer.
