About The Position

Messiah Lifeways is a non-profit organization located in Mechanicsburg, PA, that provides a network of services for adults, 55 and better living in South Central PA. Our roots trace back to 1896, when the Brethren in Christ Church founded Messiah Home in Harrisburg, PA, to serve older adults with Christ-like love.

The Massage Therapist is tasked with therapeutic massage procedures necessary for the general well-being and comfort for their clients. This position is PRN and has flexible hours. Hours would fall between the times of 9A-4P. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have knowledge of/experience in the following: Strong proficiency in technology and systems management - Office Suite (Microsoft), and scheduling systems Proficient interpersonal / customer service skills - Able to communicate effectively, with team members, and residents, and members of the community. Represents the organization in a professional and engaging manner

Requirements

• Required to have current Massage Therapist Licenses in the State of Pennsylvania
• Strong proficiency in technology and systems management - Office Suite (Microsoft), and scheduling systems
• Proficient interpersonal / customer service skills - Able to communicate effectively, with team members, and residents, and members of the community. Represents the organization in a professional and engaging manner

Responsibilities

• Perform massage therapy services and tasks (as licensed) for residents, team members, and community according to the guidelines established by the State Board of Massage Therapy
• Responsible for sterilization and sanitation in the massage area according to State law
• Maintain their service room in a neat, clean order
• Communicate possible health care and safety needs to the coordinators of the appropriate levels of living
• Schedules service appointments and take payments for services through the point-of-sale system
• Communicate product needs with the Salon Services Manager as appropriate
• Responsible for returning personal belongings (i.e. eyeglasses, hearing aids) to the residents being served
• Follow emergency procedures and respond rapidly and appropriately to emergencies ensuring the safety of the residents and team members
• Follow proper procedures and promote safe work practices in order to maintain a safe working environment
