Massage Therapist - Johnstown
About The Position
The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking a massage therapist to join our wellness team. You will support members' overall well-being and contribute to their quality of life. As a YMCA staff member, you'll provide excellent service to members in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. The Massage Therapist will apply a range of massage techniques to relieve pain in muscles, soft tissues, and other parts of the body. The salary range is $22.00-32.00 per hour based on experience and education. In addition, we offer a +10% differential for bilingual staff who test as fluent in Spanish and English. Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Current CPR/AED/BBP (within 30 days of hire).
- Current State of Colorado Massage License.
Responsibilities
- Perform Massage Therapy for YMCA members.
- Develop and propose client treatment plans that specify which types of massage are to be used.
- Consult with clients about their medical histories and any problems with stress and/or pain in to determine whether massage would be helpful.
- Develops positive relationships with participants and provides motivational support and guidance.
- Increases participant awareness of all healthy lifestyle factors.
- Monitors care and maintenance of all program facilities and equipment with particular concern for the health and safety of participants and ensures repairs are made as needed.
- Ensure accurate records of massages performed.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency procedures.
- Conveys basic knowledge of all program areas to members and participants.
- Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
- Incorporates the mission, philosophy and core values of the YMCA in all communication with participants and co-workers.
- Other duties as assigned.
