Massage Therapist

About The Position

The massage therapist will provide massage therapy services to patients, family members and others through the integrative medicine program. An employee in this position may also provide support and supervision to volunteers or students working in connection with the program. The massage therapist will work closely with the interdisciplinary team under the supervision of the integrative medicine program coordinator.

Requirements

Graduate of a credentialed massage therapy school.
Current licensure for the state of Kentucky. Board certification is desirable.
Related experience in healthcare, with knowledge of light touch or hospice massage is desirable.
Awareness of current issues and best practices in massage therapy as well as standards of professional practice.
Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in confidential matters.
Strong understanding of the physical, emotional and psychological needs of patients and their families.
Ability to work flexibly and respond to the changing needs of patients and the organization.
Ability to work with an interdisciplinary team that focuses on providing complementary therapies to address psychosocial and physical needs as identified in the patient’s plan of care.
Should possess an understanding of the dying process and the ability to manage the emotional impact of working with the ill, dying and bereaved.
Must possess a current driver’s license and automobile liability coverage
