About The Position

The staff Licensed Massage Therapist functions under the supervision of the rehabilitation leadership team and the department director. The Licensed Massage Therapist assumes responsibility and accountability for providing direct patient/client massage therapy treatment as determined by the referring provider in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care. The Licensed Massage Therapist requires skills in patient/client evaluation, treatment, and observation to accurately address patients/clients need; provides patient/client and family teaching; and works cooperatively with other patient/client team personnel in maintaining standards for professional massage therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork. These functions are carried out according to hospital policy in accordance with the mission and vision of the hospital and consistent with the philosophy of the department. The Licensed Massage Therapist participates in performance improvement and supports program development activities. Responsibilities include providing input into the budgetary planning process; contributing to cost effectiveness of services and programs provided by the department; communicating the employee's observations and suggestions related to opportunities for improvement; and maintaining positive relations with all customers.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a massage therapy school.
  • Washington Licensed Massage Therapist upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Oregon licensure as Massage Practitioner upon hire.
  • May require specialized massage therapy training or experience to meet a particular department need.
