About The Position

This position reports directly to the Fire Alarm Service Manager or their designated representative. The Electrician is responsible for servicing and installing a wide range of low‑voltage fire alarm systems and related components. The role also includes high‑voltage work such as servicing and installing emergency lighting and working on sprinkler system electrical components (compressors, jockey pumps, fire pumps, etc.). All work must be performed efficiently, professionally, and in compliance with applicable codes and company standards.

Requirements

  • Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician License required.
  • Strong understanding of wiring, circuits, and electrical components.
  • Experience bending and installing conduit is required.
  • Ability to participate in an on‑call rotation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with iPhone/iPad applications.
  • Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.

Nice To Haves

  • Fire alarm experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Service, install, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of low‑voltage fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72, as well as state and local requirements.
  • Install or replace wiring, lighting, electrical controls, breakers, and other electrical devices.
  • Meet weekly productivity goals established by the Fire Alarm Service Manager.
  • Complete administrative tasks including service acknowledgements, NFPA record‑of‑completion documents, and other NFPA 72 documentation.
  • Learn applicable fire protection codes and obtain required state licensing.
  • Protect, maintain, and properly use company‑issued tools and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, including safe driving practices, PPE requirements, and lockout/tag‑out policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well‑stocked service vehicle in accordance with company standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Fire Alarm Service Manager.
