About The Position

The Associated Recreation Council (ARC) in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation is recruiting a Martial Arts Instructor to lead various Martial Arts classes at Magnuson Community Center. The instructor will focus on providing practical instruction, and ensuring that students aged 12+ learn and operate within a safe, supportive environment. Schedule: Start Date 04/01/2025 Part time (2-4 hours a week)

Requirements

  • Martial Arts Instruction experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Possesses a working knowledge of safety and emergency procedures and be able to exercise sound judgment, and report any unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately

Responsibilities

  • planning and scheduling high-quality Martial Arts classes
  • Provides practical instruction, and ensures that students learn and operate within a safe, supportive environment
  • Plan, lead, and teach martial arts classes following standards and guidelines or other nationally recognized certifications
  • Plan and prepare skill progression specific to martial arts for each class
  • Other duties as assigned
