Marsh is a global leader in insurance broking and risk management, with a presence in over 130 countries and a workforce of 45,000 colleagues. The Marsh Early Career Program is a two-year career development opportunity designed for recent graduates, providing them with top industry training and access to dedicated development resources while working in one of Marsh's brokerage operations across the US and Canada. This program is structured to empower interns and recent graduates to shape their own career paths from the start, moving away from traditional rotations to engage in meaningful work right away. Participants will benefit from a structured cohort induction, learning and development opportunities, mentorship programs, and exposure to senior leaders, all aimed at fostering a vibrant community and valuable networking opportunities. As part of the program, candidates will choose between two career paths: Account Specialist or Associate Broker. During the interview process, candidates will explore these career paths and rank their preferences to help determine their placement. The program emphasizes flexibility, as placements are dependent on business needs, although efforts will be made to align placements with candidates' interests and skills. The role involves collaborating with clients to assess risks, build relationships with insurance companies, and secure competitive insurance quotes, thereby making a significant impact in helping clients minimize their overall risk costs. Participants will work hands-on within an account team, focusing on either account management or brokering. As an Account Specialist, the focus will be on retaining existing clients, acquiring new business, and providing day-to-day account services. In contrast, an Associate Broker will specialize in brokering, handling interactions with insurance markets and clients, and possessing technical knowledge of risks and insurance coverage products. A typical day may include partnering with Account Executives and Brokers to create marketing plans, evaluating insurance quotes, negotiating terms with underwriters, and preparing presentations for clients. The program values teamwork, analytical thinking, flexibility, and excellent communication skills, aiming to cultivate a diverse and inclusive work environment.
