About The Position

The Marketing Strategy Lead (VP) on Spend Engagement is responsible for driving business results for Branded Cards through the development and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns. This role focuses on enhancing customer engagement with card benefits, increasing card spend, and promoting product upgrades, all while ensuring a client-centric approach. The position requires collaboration across various teams to shape marketing strategies that improve customer experience and meet financial goals.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of experience in Marketing and retail bank/financial services industry experience.
  • Deep knowledge across all communication channels, including email/direct mail, web, owned digital, mobile in-app, and paid/display media.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to identify new opportunities and make data-driven decisions.
  • Curious and self-motivated with a passion for continual improvement.
  • Highly capable in driving change and innovation to deliver growth.
  • Experienced in defining testing strategies and objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously and adapt to change.
  • Hands-on, pragmatic problem solver with the ability to design solutions and anticipate problems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present and influence across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience, drive innovation, and deliver business results.
  • Lead campaign strategy, planning, and implementation of marketing initiatives.
  • Partner in the development of a spend engagement strategy engine utilizing omni-channel approaches.
  • Create test and learn agenda with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Analytics, Risk, Product, Finance, and Legal partners to identify new testing opportunities and assess campaign performance.
  • Prioritize efforts based on available channel resource capacity and funding.
  • Secure formal partner approvals to ensure adherence to Citi's control framework.
  • Lead key expansion and optimization projects that deliver organic growth to the programs.
  • Contribute to the long-term development of the program, managing strategic initiative roadmaps.
