About The Position

As a Marketing Software Development Manager, you will lead a small pod of developers responsible for building and maintaining marketing-focused software and digital commerce solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role combining people management, active development work, and delivery ownership. You will work closely with Marketing, Design, and Product partners to prioritize initiatives and deliver high-quality solutions using a Kanban-based workflow. In addition to managing the team, you are expected to contribute code, mentor developers, and uphold strong engineering practices.

Requirements

  • ~2 years of experience in a people leadership or technical lead role
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong experience with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript
  • Experience building or supporting headless architectures and API-driven systems
  • Solid understanding of software design principles, OOP, and clean coding practices
  • Experience with Node.js, APIs, and GraphQL
  • Familiarity with AWS and cloud-based infrastructure
  • Experience using Git and modern development workflows
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and manage flow in a Kanban-style process
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Shopify and eCommerce platforms (Liquid a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of software developers, providing regular feedback and mentorship
  • Actively contribute to development work, including coding, reviewing pull requests, and improving existing systems
  • Help prioritize, plan, and manage work using a Kanban process
  • Collaborate with marketing and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with campaign and growth needs
  • Guide implementation of headless architectures, including CMS and Shopify integrations
  • Ensure high standards for code quality, testing, maintainability, and performance
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and technical growth of team members
