About The Position

Citi is seeking a dynamic and experienced marketing leader to serve as a Senior Vice President of Banking Marketing covering the Investment Bank, Corporate Bank and Commercial Bank across North America. This pivotal role will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies and flagship events that drive business growth, enhance client engagement, and strengthen Citi's brand presence. The individual will work closely with senior stakeholders across Citi and in Banking in particular, as well as members of Client Access and other marketing functions. The right candidate should be highly organized with a demonstrated ability to multi task, manage and prioritize competing workstreams. The candidate should have a strong understanding of the banking industry and a successful track record of budget management, client engagement planning and oversight of event execution. Strong interpersonal, communication, diplomacy and leadership skills are required to build consensus on strategy and liaise with senior members of the bank. An analytical mindset is critical to measuring program success and further developing our client tracking and monetization of marketing efforts.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience Marketing experience in financial services, with a focus investment banking and institutional clients.
  • Documented record of success originating and managing large-scale high-profile client events of the highest caliber/ experience.
  • Experience in managing and delivering for senior stakeholders across multiple projects.
  • Ability to build positive cross-functional relationships.
  • Demonstrated history of prioritizing and allocating fixed resources across diverse initiatives.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, ability to compellingly present & persuade.
  • Advanced interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Solid analytics skills and understanding of P&L drivers.
  • Ability to plan and develop, lead initiatives
  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the definition and execution of the end-to-end marketing strategy for Banking in North America, aligning with global strategy for banking, business objectives, and growth priorities.
  • Oversee the design and execution of strategic client events, roundtables, and sponsorships that strengthen client relationships, generate new leads, and support business development.
  • Support and drive One Citi collaboration across business lines.
  • In close cooperation with the business and/or the Global Events Management team, manage all aspects of client and prospect events, including invitation processes, compliance reviews, logistics, on-site client interaction, hospitality, budget management, and post-event feedback and follow-up.
  • Foster strong partnership with the teams regionally, including senior management, to understand their marketing / event needs.
  • Optimize and strategically influence manage spend across Banking marketing initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates to key stakeholders on marketing spend, completed initiatives, and Return on Investment.
  • Work closely with internal partners, fostering an ongoing dialogue around best practice sharing, process improvement, and event/ content management.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the industry, competitors, and the evolving needs of institutional clients. Utilize this knowledge to develop targeted marketing initiatives working in close collaboration with senior banking stakeholders.
  • Ensure a detailed understanding of marketing collateral and facilitate the production of such collateral by working closely with product marketing teams, the marketing assets team and front-office personnel.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
