About The Position

Summer Marketing Internship – Temporary/Full Time Northwoods Credit Union , located in Cloquet, MN, is seeking a motivated and creative Summer Marketing Intern. This internship offers hands-on experience in various aspects of marketing, including community relations, social media, events, market research, digital advertising, promotional campaigns, and other marketing initiatives. Location: Northwood Credit Union - 1702 Avenue B, Cloquet, MN 55720 & surrounding area events Approximate Duration: April 27, 2026 – September 2026 Schedule: Monday – Friday, between 8:00AM-5:00PM with occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays to accommodate our summer events schedule Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour (paid biweekly) Benefits: Accrue up to 5.54 hours of Paid Time Off each pay period, up to 48 PTO hours per year Gain practical experience in a fast-paced marketing environment in the banking industry Opportunity to work on real projects and make a tangible impact Mentorship and guidance from experienced marketing professionals Responsibilities: Communication : Manage social media posting and scheduling, collaborate with vendors on advertising and campaigns, support member newsletter and internal communications via newsletter and intranet. Content Development : Create and layout video, image, and text content for newsletters, website, email, brochures, social media, promotions, and advertising. Event Assistance : Plan, advertise, and staff events; maintain event calendar on the intranet; attend and oversee events, including weekends and weeknights. Reporting and Administrative Support : Track initiatives and assist with daily administrative tasks. Creative Contributions : Develop mock-ups, email campaigns, and social media content. Assist with creative campaign planning and execution. Community Relations and Financial Education : Engage with the community and promote financial literacy through various programs and initiatives. Market Research : Conduct market research to support advertising and promotional campaigns. Professional Development : Opportunities for professional growth and learning within the role based in interests. Qualifications/Skills Required: High School diploma or equivalent Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, (strong interest in the field may be considered in lieu of current enrollment) Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) Familiarity with Adobe suite, Microsoft Office and Canva is a plus. Creative mindset with attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility to work from various office and event locations with the ability to drive a company vehicle as requested, (Valid Driver's License required) Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional nights, weekends, and holidays

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, (strong interest in the field may be considered in lieu of current enrollment)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Creative mindset with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work from various office and event locations with the ability to drive a company vehicle as requested, (Valid Driver's License required)
