About The Position

As a Marketing Intern, individuals will be provided opportunities for professional growth with challenging assignments, work with a variety of internal and external partners, and gain valuable experience with marketing campaigns for our membership and the communities we serve. Marketing Interns will also have the opportunity to meet with management and leadership within the Community Impact Division to learn about the corporate culture while gaining hands-on business experience. A schedule will be determined around the intern’s class schedule. The MSUFCU Internship Program is designed to support interns in developing career readiness competencies as defined by NACE. Throughout the internship program, interns will gain hands-on experience and enhance essential skills that prepare them for success and career growth. Interns will have the opportunity to develop competencies in career and self-development, communication, critical thinking, equity and inclusion, leadership, professionalism, teamwork, and technology. An offer of employment with MSU Federal Credit Union and affiliates is contingent upon the agreed work arrangement (onsite/hybrid/remote) and work location. MSU Federal Credit Union may or may not be able to accommodate temporary or permanent changes to work arrangements or allow employment outside the city and/or state of residency in which the new hire resides at the time of offered employment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

  • Actively pursuing Associate or Bachelor degree in marketing, public relations, communication, journalism, or a related field of study.

  • Thorough understanding of current marketing methodology and practices
  • Proficient in M365 programs.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and engaging with customers.
  • Good research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize your workload and meet strict deadlines.
  • Willingness to attend corporate events after hours and on weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Apply understanding of marketing knowledge and gain experience with full marketing campaigns for financial products and services in a corporate environment
  • Attends meetings and draft communications with relevant stakeholders for marketing campaigns
  • Proofreads documents to verify their effectiveness in conveying the necessary message, ensuring consistent brand, quality, and accuracy of information correct as to content, grammar, and spelling, and free of typographical errors
  • Assist with Campaign Plans and new initiative overview documents
  • Develop working understanding of SOWT, consumer, and competitive analysis and latest marketplace trends
  • Observe and develop working knowledge of product/service review, refresh, and bundling
  • Assists Marketing Specialists with special projects and programs
  • Uploads current marketing content such as promotions and campaigns to the intranet
  • Collaborates closely with Digital Marketing and Corporate Communications departments to ensure integrated marketing campaigns
  • Maintains brand standards and ensures consistent branding across various touchpoints and through marketing tactics and campaigns
  • Using assets provided by Creative Services department, designs limited marketing materials
  • Communicates effectively across Community Impact division
  • Ensures that all materials comply with federal, state and local regulations and legal requirements
  • Represent the Credit Union at campus and community events
  • Perform other duties and assist other employees, as assigned
