Join our team as a Marketing Intern - Meal Plan Ambassador and play a key role in welcoming students and families to campus during move-in, orientation, and the first week of classes. This dynamic, student-facing position focuses on helping fellow students and their families understand the value, convenience, and community benefits of having a campus meal plan. Our successful intern will be a current student of the University of Maine - Orono. As a Meal Plan Ambassador, you'll be part of a vibrant marketing team dedicated to increasing meal plan awareness and adoption. You'll assist with on-campus tabling, events, and one-on-one outreach, using your communication and interpersonal skills to promote the features of the dining program tailored to your specific campus.

  • Promote and assist with the sale of student meal plans during move-in, orientation, and the first week of classes.
  • Communicate the value, convenience, and flexibility of campus dining plans to students and parents.
  • Explain key benefits such as budget-friendly options, time-saving convenience, access to a variety of dining locations and healthy options, and social advantages of being a meal plan holder.
  • Highlight campus-specific meal plan features and offers.
  • Set up and work at promotional tables and events.
  • Maintain a positive, engaging, and informative presence always.
  • Collaborate with dining staff, marketing teams, and other ambassadors to ensure a seamless and welcoming experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A friendly, outgoing personality with a passion for helping others.
  • Ability to clearly explain benefits and answer questions about dining plans.
  • Willingness to learn the details of campus-specific offerings.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, high-energy campus environments.
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Current college student with studies in hospitality/food management, facilities management, engineering, communications, human resources, accounting, marketing or another industry related college program.
  • Previous experience in sales, peer leadership, or campus involvement is a plus, but not required.
