About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Marketing Director to lead our global Press & Media Relations, Analyst Relations, and Developer & Partner Marketing functions. This is a senior leadership role that will shape how Ambarella communicates its value proposition to key external audiences, including media, industry analysts, developers, and technology partners. The ideal candidate is a storyteller with deep expertise in technology marketing, a proven track record in media relations, and the ability to build and execute integrated marketing campaigns that drive awareness and adoption of Ambarella's solutions.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business, Engineering, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in senior marketing leadership roles within the semiconductor or technology.
  • Media Relations: Proven track record of successful media relations campaigns with top-tier technology and business media. Strong existing media relationships preferred.
  • Analyst Relations: Demonstrated experience building and executing analyst relations programs with major technology industry analyst firms.
  • Developer Marketing: Hands-on experience developing and executing developer marketing programs, creating technical content, and building developer communities. Familiarity with embedded systems, semiconductor SDKs, or hardware platforms preferred.
  • Content Development: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a portfolio demonstrating strong copywriting, messaging, and content creation abilities across multiple formats (press releases, blogs, white papers, webinars, etc.).
  • Campaign Execution: Experience designing and managing integrated marketing campaigns with measurable results.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic planning and analytical skills with the ability to translate business objectives into marketing initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in semiconductor, AI, computer vision, or video technology markets.
  • Familiarity with embedded Linux, AI/ML frameworks, and developer tools ecosystems.
  • Experience working with global teams across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Developer Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive developer marketing program to grow the Ambarella developer ecosystem.
  • Content Creation & Management: Oversee the creation of high-quality marketing content including technical blog posts, white papers, solution briefs, application notes, video tutorials, webinars, and case studies tailored for developers and partners.
  • Campaign Development: Design and implement integrated marketing campaigns targeting developers and partners, including product launch campaigns, educational initiatives, and adoption programs. Coordinate campaigns with product marketing and sales.
  • Partner Enablement: Work with the Partner and Channel lead to develop partner marketing programs, co-marketing initiatives, and channel enablement materials. Support key partner relationships and joint marketing activities.
  • Digital Marketing Integration: Work with the outbound marketing team to ensure developer and partner content is effectively distributed through Ambarella's website, social media, email campaigns, and developer portals.
  • Events & Conferences: Represent Ambarella at industry events, conferences, and developer-focused gatherings. Lead Ambarella's presence at events like CES, Embedded World, ISC west, and developer conferences.
  • Ecosystem Development: Support the growth of Ambarella's developer community through hackathons, developer challenges, online forums, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive global media relations strategy aligned with Ambarella's business objectives and product roadmap. Identify key media targets, story angles, and messaging frameworks that position Ambarella as a thought leader in Edge and Physical AI.
  • Media Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison with technology, business, and trade media. Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and editors at top-tier publications.
  • Press Activities: Lead all press-related activities including press release development, media briefings, press conferences, trade show media events, and coordinated product launch media campaigns. Ensure messaging consistency across all external communications.
  • Media Monitoring & Reporting: Track media coverage, analyze sentiment, and provide regular reporting on media relations performance. Manage media clipping services and maintain a media database.
  • Analyst Engagement Strategy: Build and execute a strategic analyst relations program targeting key industry analysts at firms such as Gartner, IDC, Omdia, and ABI Research. Position Ambarella's technology, market position, and competitive differentiation.
  • Briefing Programs: Organize and execute analyst briefings in conjunction with major product launches, earnings announcements, and industry events. Coordinate analyst tours and facility visits.
  • Influence & Feedback: Translate analyst insights into actionable intelligence for product marketing and executive leadership. Respond to analyst inquiries, participate in briefings, and ensure Ambarella is included in relevant research reports.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Leverage analyst relationships to gather competitive intelligence, market insights, and feedback on Ambarella's positioning relative to competitors.
  • Reporting & Metrics: Track analyst coverage, maintain an analyst contact database, and provide regular reporting on analyst relations activities and outcomes.
