About The Position

The Marketing Director at W Publishing Group is a strategic leader responsible for planning and managing marketing campaigns for select front list and backlist titles. This role involves developing integrated marketing strategies, overseeing execution, and collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve sales goals. The position requires innovation in marketing practices to adapt to a changing marketplace and includes responsibilities such as budget management, author relationship management, and campaign analysis.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of marketing experience required, with 2 or more years in a director role preferred.
  • Experience working with high-profile individuals and their teams.
  • Experience managing a range of marketing mediums (print, radio, digital, social media, direct mail, etc.).
  • Experience presenting marketing plans and updates to various groups.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Understanding of publicity is a plus.
  • Direct publishing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and leads the title and brand marketing for a select group of authors for W Publishing, aiming to meet or exceed revenue and profit goals.
  • Innovates HCCP marketing strategy to adapt to a rapidly changing marketplace and reach consumers in both faith-based and general markets.
  • Manages author relationships and ensures effective project management across author and agency teams.
  • Develops objectives and strategies to target markets through various marketing and digital tactics.
  • Coordinates promotions with all sales channels and national retailers.
  • Manages budget development and expense projections for assigned campaigns.
  • Leverages best practices in digital and traditional marketing methods to maximize unit sales and revenue.
  • Organizes national author tours and special events for major releases.
  • Directs the development of creative and sales assets to meet marketing communication goals.
  • Analyzes marketing campaign data and recommends adjustments based on results to ensure campaign success.
  • Assists in planning and preparation for sales conferences, presenting marketing portions of certain titles during the conference.
  • Prepares marketing and publicity updates for internal stakeholders in collaboration with publicists.
  • Proficient in basic design for graphics needed for marketing materials.
