About The Position

The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing an effective communications and marketing strategy for Victory Programs. This role ensures that key audiences understand the agency’s mission, impact, and effectiveness, inspiring them to support and engage with the organization. These efforts support fundraising and volunteer initiatives and increase public awareness of the broad range of services provided by the agency. The Marketing & Communications Manager works under the supervision of the Chief Development Officer and collaborates closely with the Development team, program leadership, and administrative staff. Key areas of responsibility include management of the organization’s website, newsletters, event communications, media relations, social media platforms, internal communications initiatives, and community relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of four years of related experience.
  • Excellent writing, communication, organizational, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience managing communications projects and budgets.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact or similar systems.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms, including Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Website management experience required, including WordPress; basic HTML knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with design and content tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software.

Nice To Haves

  • Photography and/or videography skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent messaging and brand integrity across all communications platforms, including newsletters, website content, sponsorship materials, social media, annual appeals, and the annual impact report.
  • Develop and maintain the department’s communications and publications calendar.
  • Maintain, design, and update agency brochures, the Chart of Programs, and other public-facing materials.
  • Oversee the creation and placement of agency advertisements.
  • Manage the agency’s electronic communications through platforms such as Constant Contact, including e-newsletters, email appeals, and event communications.
  • Oversee and maintain the organization’s website, ensuring content is current, accurate, and aligned with organizational messaging.
  • Manage all social media platforms to ensure consistent messaging, visual identity, and audience engagement.
  • Produce three print newsletters annually (Fall, Winter, and Spring) in collaboration with program and administrative staff.
  • Work with program staff to develop and maintain a library of photos, stories, and impact narratives for donor communications and public outreach.
  • Monitor news and developments relevant to the agency’s mission and share relevant updates with staff.
  • Maintain a public relations plan in collaboration with the Chief Development Officer to identify opportunities for media coverage.
  • Write and distribute press releases and respond to media inquiries.
  • Assist reporters in coordinating interviews with leadership, program staff, and clients, as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer and Director of Individual Giving to support fundraising campaigns and donor stewardship communications.
  • Assist in developing corporate sponsorship packages, appeal materials, and fundraising communications.
  • Support promotion of fundraising events through invitations, promotional materials, website updates, press outreach, and social media engagement.
  • Coordinate pre- and post-event communications and media opportunities.
  • Provide training and support to staff across departments (e.g., Programs, HR) to strengthen internal communications and marketing materials, and ensure alignment with agency messaging.
  • Manage the agency’s spokesperson training program and crisis communications plan.
  • Support the President & CEO and leadership team with community relations and public engagement activities.
  • Coordinate materials needed for conferences, agency fairs, and community events.
  • Manage the nomination process for external awards recognizing staff and board members.
  • In collaboration with the Chief Development Officer, manage the communications and marketing budget, including expenses related to design services, public relations activities, printing, and advertising.
  • Participate in evening and weekend fundraising activities when required.
  • Participate in the agency's communication and public relations activities.
  • Represent Victory Programs to community agencies and individuals.
  • Performs any other requests that, from time to time, are made by the supervisor.
