Marketing & Communications Intern
About The Position
Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast, with offices throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Our marketing and communications team has an opportunity for an internship designed for college students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in the fields of marketing, communications and public relations. We are looking for individuals that are eager to learn and work together with a collaborative team. Interns will work under the guidance of experienced professionals in marketing and communications, as well as alongside those in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry to help to tell GMC’s mission of “building communities.” This position will be located in our Nashville, Tennessee office, located at 3310 West End Avenue. Compensation for this position will be dependent on year in school and previous experience. A working space and office computer will be provided for use during the internship.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Able to perform work-related travel and possess a valid driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- Efficiency in Microsoft Teams, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator), PowerPoint and WordPress
- Experience with video editing and other forms of media a plus
Responsibilities
- Content development for social media including research, crafting posts, creating graphics and scheduling
- Putting together website articles and press releases
- Communications collateral, including editing and proofreading project write-ups, articles and other deliverables
- Attending events and ceremonies such as site visits, groundbreakings, topping out events, ribbon cuttings, etc.
- Proposal assembly, including proofreading, printing/binding and proposal delivery.
- Data collection and entry for Deltek marketing campaigns.
- Sourcing branded items for the company store and fall career fairs.
- Office social events.
